Congregational Care & Mission Opportunities
At FPC Monroe, we believe in caring for one another and serving our wider community. There are many ways to get involved through outreach, compassion ministries, and volunteer opportunities.
Connection Cards & Member Visitation
Send sympathy, get-well, and thinking-of-you cards to members on the prayer list or those in need of encouragement. The Serve and Care Committee has a list of church members who need our prayers and some of our time. Can you give an hour, share a lunch time or take someone to lunch?
Faith Community Health
Health and wellness information from Atrium Health is shared with the congregation, along with opportunities to participate in community health events and educational programs.
Loaves & Fishes Food Ministry
Volunteers help organize food and supplies at the ministry site located at the nearby Episcopal church. Monthly food donations are also collected at FPC Monroe to support this effort.
Senior Nutrition Meals
Serve the community by helping deliver meals to seniors and individuals in need.
Visitation Ministry
Provide care and connection by visiting homebound or ill members, delivering meals, and sharing seasonal gifts such as Valentine treats, Easter surprises, and Christmas poinsettias.
Community Shelter Meal Ministry
Every other month, church volunteers prepare and serve dinner at the local community shelter on the last Saturday of the month.
Rise Against Hunger Rice Packing Event
Participate in planning and packing meals during our annual rice packing mission event that supports global hunger relief through Rise Against Hunger.
Christmas Card Exchange
During the Advent season, members are invited to share Christmas greetings through card baskets located near the Sanctuary doors.
Operation Christmas Child
Help collect, organize, and pack shoebox gifts for children around the world during our annual packing event each fall through Operation Christmas Child.
Eden's Children Village
Eden Children's Village is a holistic mission that supports orphaned and disadvantaged children in Doma, Zimbabwe. We have a long standing relationship with Eden Children Village . Click the link below to find out more about Eden Ministries
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support the rice packing event! Together, we packed 10,000 meals that will be distributed around the world to help feed those in need. We are truly blessed to be part of a congregation that so faithfully comes together to serve and live out our mission at FPC Monroe.
